Year 6

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In Grade 6 Literacy, the students have been learning about different types of poems. They have been working hard writing their own cinquain, haiku, acrostic, couplets and limericks.

They have been looking forward to their Grade 6 Graduation and have been preparing many special things for this exciting night.

Grade 6 students enjoyed an excursion to Twisted Science. This was a fantastic day, with many great exhibitions to look at and play with.

In Term 4, Grades 1, 2, 5, and 6s went to Twisted Science in Echuca. We learnt about electricity and circuits. We learnt how many watts are needed to conduct electricity. We powered up a circuit board and 4 mini light bulbs, a fan, and a buzzer. We had to use different wires to conduct enough electricity to light and power them up. We had an hour of free time to look around Twisted Science. We built castles, houses and had a dungeon. We also played with the tube balls. We put the balls in this mini door and they had to go through a bunch of pipes filled with rushed air, then they would come out and we had to catch them in a basket. Later, we went to have our lunch outside the public library and then we played Duck, Duck Goose. We all hopped back on the bus to come back to Sirius College.
